We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Accounting Manager to join our growing consulting team in the Seattle market. This role is ideal for a well-rounded accounting professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys working across multiple industries and business models . Unlike a traditional in-house role, this position offers the opportunity to engage with a variety of clients , providing both hands-on accounting execution and higher-level financial leadership . You will play a key role in supporting our clients accounting functionsranging from Accounting Manager-level responsibilities to Controller-level oversight and advisory . Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field ( CPA or CMA preferred )
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience , including leadership or supervisory exposure
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and full-cycle accounting
  • Experience working across multiple industries (e.g., manufacturing, construction, non-profit, tech, or services) generalist background strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct , or similar
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong systems adaptability
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and thrive in a client-facing environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with executive-level stakeholders
  • Analytical mindset with a passion for problem-solving and process improvement

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating at or supporting Controller-level functions is a big plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage full-cycle accounting across multiple client engagements
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes , ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Step into Controller-level responsibilities as needed, including financial oversight, process improvement, and strategic support
  • Partner directly with client leadership (CFOs, CEOs, and Controllers) to provide financial insights and recommendations
  • Develop and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and operational processes
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives
  • Review reconciliations, journal entries, and key deliverables for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with audit coordination and tax preparation support
  • Mentor junior staff or collaborate with other consultants on engagements
