About The Position

The Accounting Manager will play a key role in managing the company’s day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. This individual will support a growing organization by strengthening accounting processes, maintaining compliance with GAAP, and contributing to a scalable financial infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
  • 3-5 years of progressive public accounting and/or industry experience
  • Experience in the biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry required
  • Strong understanding of the drug development lifecycle and related accounting considerations
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and proficiency in Excel
  • Familiarity with audit processes and internal controls (SOX experience a plus)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross functional, evolving environment

Nice To Haves

  • Public accounting background (Big 4 or regional firm)
  • Experience in a clinical-stage or pre-commercial biotech company
  • Exposure to equity accounting, stock-based compensation, or grant accounting

Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and consolidated financial statements
  • Maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP and assist in the design and maintenance of an effective system of internal controls.
  • Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, clinical, CMC and operations teams to prepare accruals
  • Manage General Ledger activities, including accruals, prepaids, equity and fixed assets
  • Support external audits, including preparation of schedules and coordination with auditors
  • Assist with preparation of various tax filings requirements
  • Conduct technical accounting research and assist with special projects as may arise
  • Take on a key role in the semi-monthly payroll process
  • Play a key role in ERP implementation
