Requirements

  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience (leadership experience preferred)
  • Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Background in HOA, property management, or multi-entity accounting a plus
  • Experience with association accounting platforms (Vantaca, TOPS, CINC, etc.) is a bonus

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for the accounting function supporting multiple HOA / community association clients.
  • Manage the full accounting cycle, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all financial activities.
  • Oversee general ledger integrity, including review and approval of journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Produce and review monthly financial statements and management reports, ensuring they are audit-ready and aligned with governing documents and budgets.
  • Lead all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations, ensuring efficient workflows, strong controls, and exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals — including AP and AR Specialists — through coaching, performance management, goal setting, and ongoing skill development.
  • Establish clear expectations, monitor productivity and quality, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner closely with Community Managers, Board Members, and external auditors to support financial transparency and informed decision-making.
  • Evaluate existing processes, implement best practices, and strengthen internal controls to improve scalability, efficiency, and risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, association governing documents, contractual requirements, and industry standards.
