About The Position

This role is ideal for someone who has outgrown pure execution, enjoys owning outcomes, and wants to play a meaningful role in shaping accounting processes, controls, and reporting with a clear path toward increased leadership responsibility over time.

Requirements

• Strong command of GAAP and balance-sheet-focused accounting
• Experience leading or overseeing month-end close in a multi-entity environment
• Comfort with accounting judgment, prioritization, and ambiguity
• Experience reviewing work and ensuring accuracy and consistency
• Strong Excel skills and experience with cloud-based accounting systems
• Prior experience as a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, or similar role

Nice To Haves

• Real estate, investment, or construction accounting experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Owning and overseeing the month-end close process across multiple real estate entities
• Reviewing and approving journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
• Ensuring timely and accurate bank, loan, escrow, and intercompany reconciliations
• Maintaining a clean, well-documented general ledger in SoftLedger
• Overseeing rental and investment accounting, including data flows from AppFolio and other operational systems
• Preparing and reviewing lender and investor reporting, including loan compliance packages and property operating statements
• Partnering closely with the fractional controller (LLŪM) on accounting structure, close cadence, and controls
• Identifying process gaps and implementing improvements to support scale and efficiency
• Serving as the internal accounting lead and primary point of escalation for accounting matters
