Basic Job Functions:Nucor Steel Decatur is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead our accounting team and support our commitment to safety, profitability, and development. As Accounting Manager, you will lead a high-performing team, influence data-driven decision making, and drive results across the operation. This position requires strong leadership, technical accounting expertise, and the ability to promote continuous improvement and teamwork in a dynamic environment.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Four years of accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing or industrial settings.
Demonstrated experience leading and developing accounting teams.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and coach the accounting team, championing professional growth and skill development.
Oversee accounting operations including financial reporting to ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and the best accounting principles.
Leverage financial analysis to inform strategic decisions and improve cost performance.
Collaborate across departments and divisions to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Safeguard company assets by implementing and maintaining effective internal controls and procedures.
Support innovation in accounting practices by encouraging process improvements and leveraging new technologies.
