The Role The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the management of all accounting operations including revenue recognition, accounts payable (AP), inventory and fixed asset management, payroll, and cash management. This role is expected to bring expertise in best in class processes, usage of AI and automation, and systems to enable efficient and scalable accounting operations. Cross functional collaboration will be a key to success. This role will work closely with the broader finance function (FP&A, Strategic Finance, Sales) to provide insights and analysis to business partners throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will bring experience from a public accounting firm, preferably with an audit background, combined with industry experience in a corporate accounting environment. Reporting to the Controller, this role is a key hire in building a best-in-class accounting function capable of supporting the company through its next stage of growth.

Requirements

  • Active CPA license
  • Public accounting firm experience required (Big 4 or large regional firm); audit background strongly preferred
  • Industry (corporate/private company) accounting experience required in addition to public accounting firm background
  • At least 5-7 years of progressive accounting and managerial experience
  • Experience building and utilizing AI workflows and agents to automate every day tasks
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full cycle accounting operations and month-end close including revenue recognition, accounts payable, fixed assets and capital expenditures, payroll, and cash management
  • Build and utilize AI workflows and tools to create agents and process flows to eliminate manual work; leverage automation capabilities within the company's ERP and adjacent tools (e.g., AP automation, close management software) to reduce completion time and increase accuracy
  • Drive process improvement in all aspects of accounting and across entities for efficiency and scalability
  • Develop scalable internal controls within the accounting function and intersections across the organization; design and maintain a SOX-ready control framework in anticipation of future compliance requirements
  • Manage and continuously improve financial reporting for the company including understanding and analyzing financial data, and developing and presenting accounting insights to leadership
  • Work closely with the finance team on monthly financial analysis and insights as well as budget preparation and inputs
  • Become a trusted business partner to key stakeholders by providing BvA analysis and insights along with suggested improvements or process changes
  • Support the annual audit and tax compliance; serve as primary liaison to external auditors, managing PBC requests, audit timelines, and resolution of technical accounting matters raised
  • Assist in development, tracking, and performance of accounting KPIs
  • Remain current on accounting pronouncements that are applicable to the company, inform management of new requirements and changes to financial reporting, and implement timely
