About The Position

The Accounting Manager leads the daily operations of the Finance team, overseeing payables and receivables, general ledger activity, financial statement preparation, audits, and taxes. This role monitors financial performance, identifies improvement opportunities, and supports strategic initiatives that drive long-term growth and profitability.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related Finance degree
Five plus years of a combination of public accounting experience & finance experience in a manufacturing environment
Positive attitude and high level of initiative to learn and perform the job
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports.
Strong ability to think critically, communicate clearly and effectively both verbally & in writing
Coaches and trains direct reports to help improve their skills and abilities.
Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams
High proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
Excellent attention to detail
Strong working knowledge of an ERP system
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize multiple assignments
Maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment and continuously improving to meet changing needs of the business

Responsibilities

Plans, directs, and coordinates all accounting operational functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activity, fixed assets and credit card management.
Responsible for accurate and timely month end close including:
Ensure review of all journal entries.
Ensure all account reconciliations are complete and accurate.
Review and analyze Monthly Financial Package and commentary that includes Balance Sheet, Income Statements,and Cash Flow Statement.
Provide oversight on internal KPI-tracking and reporting including follow up of measures.
Collaborate with the Cost Accounting Manager to ensure accurate product costing, pricing, inventory valuation, and margin analysis.
Responsible for cash management, including outgoing funds, collections, and internal transfers.
Facilitate the development of the annual budget, forecasts, and investigate variances throughout the year.
Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines.
Review existing processes and recommend process improvements to gain efficiencies.
Lead year-end review, filing of tax returns, 401k audit, and other external audits.
Develop team members by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining cross functional relationships.
