High Flying Foods is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our finance team at our Sausalito headquarters. This role works closely with the VP of Finance, executive leadership, store operators, and external partners to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely payroll, and smooth day-to-day accounting operations across a multi-entity organization. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing both people and processes in a fast-paced, hospitality-driven environment. The position is based on 4 days on site and 1 day remote on Thursdays.

Requirements

5+ years of accounting or finance experience (hospitality or multi-unit operations strongly preferred)
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
3+ years of people management experience; strong people-management skills, with frequent cross-functional communication
Strong working knowledge of GAAP and statutory reporting requirements
Proven ability to prepare, analyze, and interpret complex financial reports
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting/payroll systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Sound judgment and strong decision-making abilities
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and re-prioritize in a dynamic environment

Nice To Haves

Experience working in a multi-entity environment
CPA preferred, but not required
Experience with Sage Intacct and/or Paycom is a plus

Responsibilities

Support the VP of Finance in managing and developing a four-person accounting team
Process and record payroll and 401(k) contributions
Prepare and remit sales tax and other required filings
Process monthly license fee payments
Perform monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies or anomalies in financial transactions
Reconcile intercompany and inter-store balances
Reconcile bank accounts and monitor daily bank activity; Support banking relationships and related documentation
Track and manage recurring vendor costs for High Flying Foods (software, legal, professional services, etc.)
Produce monthly income statements and prepare interim and quarterly financial reports
Support budgeting and forecasting efforts in collaboration with Finance and Operations teams
Manage and reconcile Fund accounting and prepare quarterly investor financial reports
Assist with accounting systems improvements, implementations, and automation
Prepare and file quarterly Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) reports and sales reports
Assist with annual audits and related documentation requests
Assist with annual tax filing
Maintain the chart of accounts and corporate accounting records
Maintain organized electronic and paper accounting files
Perform other related duties as assigned
