About The Position

The Accounting Manager will play a key role in managing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting functions. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role supports month-end closings, financial reporting, audit preparation, monitoring and execution of internal controls, and the implementation of accounting best practices. Accounting manager will supervise the GL team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to lead and collaborate effectively within the accounting and finance team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3+ years in managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, including percentage of completion revenue recognition, and financial reporting standards and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems; Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial analysis tools.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership along with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in construction industry along with inventory management
  • Microsoft Dynamics experience

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Experience in construction industry along with inventory management is highly desirable.
  • Lead and manage general ledger closing activities, including reconciliations, accruals, inventory management and journal entries.
  • Support the development and maintenance of effective internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate with external and internal auditors during annual audits and quarterly reviews, providing required documentation and explanations.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance accuracy, and improve reporting timeliness.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations and mentor accounting staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all tax filings, financial reports, and compliance obligations are met in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist with the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of accounting software and related systems.
