About The Position

The Accounting Manager oversees day-to-day accounting operations, ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, and provides hands-on support and leadership to the accounting team. This role partners closely with internal leadership and external stakeholders to drive timely close processes, maintain strong financial controls, and provide clear financial insight that supports broader business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with month-end close processes, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency with general ledger accounting and financial reporting tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with accounting or ERP systems.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
  • Experience with bank reconciliations and account reconciliations.
  • Experience in audit or working with auditors is beneficial.
  • Experience in finance functions beyond core accounting, such as budgeting and forecasting.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Proven track record of identifying and implementing process improvements in accounting operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage daily accounting operations, including the general ledger, month-end close, quarter-end close, and financial reporting activities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and internal company policies.
  • Clearly communicate the progress of monthly and quarterly initiatives to internal leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Forecast and track key financial and account metrics, and analyze variances and trends to support decision-making.
  • Prepare and present clear, concise reports on account and financial status to leadership.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities, including tracking actual results against budget and identifying key drivers of variance.
  • Monitor and strengthen internal controls, ensure compliance with policies and regulations, and support audit and tax activities as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, efficiency, and internal controls, and help implement best practices.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and support to accounting team members to ensure high-quality work and professional growth.
  • Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations that are aligned with individual development goals and team objectives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and leadership teams to support business initiatives and provide financial insight.
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as required.
