Requirements

  • 8+ years of accounting experience
  • Construction accounting background (WIP and job costing required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
  • Experience managing payroll, including certified payroll
  • Strong QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel skills
  • Self-directed, proactive, and comfortable working onsite in Stratford, CT

Responsibilities

  • Own all construction accounting activities
  • Prepare WIP schedules and percentage-of-completion reporting
  • Close the books monthly and complete bank reconciliations
  • Manage job costing and cost accounting for self-performed work
  • Oversee AP/AR, lien releases, COIs, and compliance documentation
  • Prepare a weekly financial report
  • Manage certified payroll through ADP and ensure DOT/regulatory compliance
  • Interface with banking partners and maintain required documentation
  • Support estimating using Excel-based tools
