About The Position

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join our growing team! Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional with a strong analytical mindset and excellent organizational skills? This role will report to the Controller. In this position you will: Lead the month-end and quarter-end close process, including revenue recognition, review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis Manage accounts payable function to ensure proper coding of vendor invoices and communications with external vendor partners. Oversee application of ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition), including contract-based and milestone-driven revenue Manage and analyze project/study-level financials, ensuring proper alignment of revenue and expenses Partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate cost allocation and revenue timing across multiple active studies Support and lead aspects of the external audit process, including preparation of schedules and technical accounting documentation Evaluate and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes to support scalability Provide guidance and mentorship to staff and review team output Contribute to systems and process improvements, including ERP optimization Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements and internal reporting packages Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Proven ownership of the close process and financial reporting
  • Experience working with external auditors
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong customer service skills
  • Experience supervising staff and managing processes
  • Strong organizational, leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and to organize, instruct, and supervise staff while promoting group effort and achievement
  • Superb time management skills and detail orientation
  • Ability to manage conflicts and resolve problems effectively
  • Viable applicants will be required to pass a background and education verification check.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA (active or in-progress) strongly preferred
  • Public accounting background highly preferred
