The Accounting Manager is responsible for assisting the Controller with managing the day to day activities of the accounting department. Additionally, the Accounting Manager will oversee month-end and year-end close schedules and processes, perform account reconciliations and journal entries, review the work of other Accounting team members, maintain the general ledger, assist with audit preparations, and perform other accounting duties as assigned. What you'll do: Compiling and analyzing financial information to prepare entries to accounts Preparing and/or reviewing detailed journal entries and bank reconciliations Researching and investigating financial variances for monthly budget to actual analysis as assigned Preparing reports and making recommendations that aid management in determining proper accounting reserves, assets, and expenditures Providing recommendations for process improvements Reviewing A/P and A/R transaction batches before they are entered into the accounting system for accuracy and completeness Ensuring compliance with accounting and reporting deadlines Oversee month-end and year-end close processes Reviewing weekly and biweekly payroll processing as prepared by the Senior Accountant Serving as primary account administrator for payroll system Working directly with internal stakeholders to improve accuracy of data provided to the Accounting Department Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls Assisting with system implementations as necessary Manage Accounting Team Oversee accounting process - AP, AR, GL, Commissions Balance sheet tie-outs Variance analysis What we're looking for: Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited university 5-10 years of experience working in a rigorous accounting environment (experience with companies that are subject to a financial statement audit is highly desirable) Demonstrates initiative in understanding process workflows and related internal controls A continuous improvement mindset Previous supervisory experience of A/P or A/R is preferred High-level problem-solving and analytical skills High attention to detail Advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Experience with Sage Intacct or other like systems Advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel, Powerpoint, and Word Excellent written and verbal communication skills What you'll get: Competitive Salary Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Unlimited Vacation 401k (w/employer match of up to 5%) Premier-provided apparel
