We are seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee day to day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain strong internal controls. This role works closely with the CEO, outsourced accounting partners, auditors, and internal departments to support financial operations across retail, mission services, grants, and administrative functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role (including month-end/year-end close, general ledger, and reconciliations)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, analytical tools)
  • Highly organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills required

Nice To Haves

  • Nonprofit accounting experience strongly preferred
  • NetSuite experience preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Familiarity with grant and contract management desirable

Responsibilities

  • Manage general ledger activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Oversee cash management, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet accuracy
  • Review and approve account reconciliations and supporting documentation
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
  • Support annual audit and IRS Form 990 preparation
  • Assist with ongoing optimization of NetSuite and related systems
  • Oversee AP/AR processes including invoice review and approvals
  • Ensure proper documentation, coding, and policy compliance
  • Coordinate with payroll providers and HR on payroll accounting and benefit reconciliations
  • Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting
  • Monitor budget-to-actual results and investigate variances
  • Provide financial reports and analysis to leadership
  • Support grant accounting, restricted funds tracking, and reporting
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff
  • Serve as a financial resource for internal departments
  • Coordinate with outsourced accounting partners
  • Promote accuracy, accountability, continuous improvement, and positive teamwork
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the CEO.
