Position Overview: The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in finance or accounting (nonprofit experience preferred).
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
  • Vendor/contractor management experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Clear communication and interpersonal abilities to work across departments and with external partners.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard organizational assets.
  • Initiative to identify process improvements and implement solutions.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented culture.
  • Must have the use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public using telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, sit, stand, hear, use hands to fingers, handle, feel, or operate objects, and read and write English.
  • Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office equipment, such as but not limited to a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and/or push articles weighing up to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger functions
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling and collection efforts
  • Manage monthly accounting close process including reconciliation of bank statements and balance sheet accounts
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and ad-hoc reports under the guidance of the CFO
  • Support the annual CPA audit and Tax Return 990 process
  • Document and monitor financial processes and procedures to strengthen internal controls
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard organizational assets
  • Collaborate with Sr. Manager Revenue & Claims to monitor and manage project budgets effectively
  • Collaborate with other team members to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency and accuracy to streamline procedures and systems
