About The Position

The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in ensuring financial integrity, supporting portfolio operations, and driving continuous process improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience.
  • Background in real estate accounting required; hospitality/hotel accounting preferred.
  • Expertise with Yardi, M3, Quickbooks, Billpay preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Comfortable leveraging AI tools for first‑draft analyses, reconciliations, and documentation.
  • Strong understanding of data integrity, governance, and structured information management.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across accounting, operations, and asset management.
  • Proactive problem‑solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Must be able to commute to the firm’s New York City office (18th & 5th Avenue).
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak reporting periods.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or public accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the full monthly close cycle for owner‑level and property‑level entities.
  • Review all journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation across the portfolio as needed.
  • Prepare and analyze property‑level P&Ls, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and alignment with operational performance.
  • Coordinate with hotel GMs, DOFs, and property managers to validate monthly results and resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor working capital, operating cash needs, and owner funding requirements.
  • Support annual budgeting and reforecasting processes in collaboration with office and hotel operations teams.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards, franchise reporting requirements, and owner‑level submissions.
  • Maintain accurate accounting and reporting for assets throughout the investment lifecycle.
  • Maintain real estate and personal property tax schedules across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Oversee prepaid and accrual schedules for properties ensuring accurate allocation across fiscal periods across various assets.
  • Monitor sales, occupancy, and use tax compliance in accordance with state and local regulations.
  • Support external tax and accounting advisors with annual filings, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, lenders, and other third‑party partners to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Manage aspects of debt service, reserve funding, and compliance with loan documentation.
  • Coordinate with lenders, servicers, and counterparties to ensure payments and reporting requirements are processed timely.
  • Review financial closings related to acquisitions, dispositions, and financing events.
  • Oversee vendor onboarding, payment approvals, and weekly disbursements via Yardi Bill Pay/M3.
  • Maintain fixed asset ledgers, process capital expenditures, and support CapEx and renovation tracking.
  • Partner with senior leadership to drive automation, workflow optimization, and enhanced internal controls.
  • Collaborate closely with hotel management, asset management, and portfolio management teams on performance metrics, budgeting, and strategic initiatives.
  • Support acquisitions and dispositions through financial analysis, due diligence, and transaction-level accounting.
  • Supervise and develop a team of accountants.
