Position will be responsible to oversee core business accounting duties: JE’s, account reconciliations, month-end close, reporting, controls/audit, etc. Position will manage 3-4 staff members. Important goal for the upcoming year is to identify opportunities for functionalization, standardization, and overall improvements within business and across the region. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week. You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent field
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Demonstrated intermediate to advanced level of proficiency with Excel (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups)
  • Demonstrated familiarity in working with large data sets

  • Experience with Hyperion Essbase, PeopleSoft Financials
  • Month-end close experience
  • Financial statement preparation
  • Demonstrated solid attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a self-directed manner, solving complex accounting issues and transactions
  • Proven solid oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic working environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities and meet tight deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Oversee staff who execute monthly SG&A / Other income / Cash JE’s, Recons, Estimates, etc.
  • Coordinate Month-end results – report actuals and variances to Forecast to various parties
  • Manage relationships and information sharing across departments
  • Evolve business structure / create more functional alignment & create efficiencies in processes
  • Audit and control oversight
