Accounting Manager
About The Position
This role will support the Aero-Med business. Ideal candidate will be based in the Greater Columbus, Ohio area with the ability to work a hybrid schedule. What Accounting contributes to Cardinal Health Finance oversees the accounting, tax, financial plans and policies of the organization, establishes and maintains fiscal controls, prepares and interprets financial reports, oversees financial systems and safeguards the organization's assets. Accounting establishes and maintains accounting policies and controls, completes technical research, safeguards the organization's assets and ensures accuracy of accounting and financial records in accordance with accounting standards.
Requirements
- 8+ years of corporate or public accounting experience, preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
- Prior management experience preferred
- Manages department operations and supervises professional employees, front line supervisors and/or business support staff
- Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals
- Ensures employees operate within guidelines
- Decisions have a short term impact on work processes, outcomes and customers
- Interacts with subordinates, peers, customers, and suppliers at various management levels; may interact with senior management
- Interactions normally involve resolution of issues related to operations and/or projects
- Gains consensus from various parties involved
- Ideal candidate will be local to Columbus, Ohio with the ability to work a hybrid schedule and come into the Dublin, Ohio office a couple days a week
Responsibilities
- Lead monthly accounting responsibilities – ensuring completeness and accuracy of transactions posting to ERP, closing the books, preparing account reconciliations
- Responsible for operations of ERP financial system
- Accountable for local treasury function
- Support build of product costing and ensure correct valuation in financial systems
- Perform tax transactions
- Support customer contract negotiation
- Support project planning and CapEx deployment
- Develop team a broader team of 2 associates
- Leverage CAH platforms for process integration and improvement
