Requirements

  • Communication: The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including executives, team members, and clients.

  • Financial analysis: The ability to analyze financial data and identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Leadership: The ability to lead and motivate a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, direction, and support.
  • Project management: The ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Technology proficiency: The ability to use financial software and tools to manage accounting data, generate reports, and analyze financial performance.
  • Analytical thinking: The ability to collect, organize, analyze, interpret, and communicate financial data to make informed decisions in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strategic partnerships: The ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships with external and internal stakeholders, including auditors, vendors, and other financial professionals.
  • US – Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) of Accounting or Finance required.
  • 5-10 years of accounting/finance experience in complex, global organizations.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, SOX, and technical accounting areas such as revenue recognition and royalty reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in public accounting and/or industry; or a combination of.
  • Manufacturing industry experience.
  • Strong process improvement and project management skills.
  • Experience leading remote teams.
  • CPA and/or Master’s in Accounting/Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Revenue cycle: Responsible for the proper application of revenue recognition methods for the various contractual obligations of the organization. This includes reviewing contracts for key accounting issues and ensuring any identified accounting issues are appropriately reflected in the financial statements.
  • Compliance: Responsible for ensuring that the organization complies with all financial regulations and laws. This includes maintaining accurate records, filing tax returns, and adhering to accounting standards.
  • Managing the accounting team: Responsible for managing a team of accountants and ensuring that all accounting processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner. This includes hiring, training, and mentoring team members.
  • Financial analysis: Responsible for analyzing financial data to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for changes to improve the financial performance of the organization. This may involve identifying cost savings opportunities, improving revenue streams, or optimizing financial processes.
  • Financial reporting: Responsible for overseeing the preparation and analysis of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. These reports are used to provide accurate financial information to stakeholders and help guide business decisions.
  • Strategic partnerships: Responsible for building and maintaining strategic partnerships with external and internal stakeholders, including auditors, vendors, and other financial professionals. This includes reviewing contracts, managing relationships, and ensuring that the organization receives the best possible financial advice and guidance.
