About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Accounting Manager is largely responsible for the month-end close process, financial reporting, and supporting ad hoc projects for the Director of Accounting, including (but not limited to) accurate and timely accounting and monitoring of company’s prepaids, cloud computing, other assets and liabilities as assigned, as well as accounting, forecasting, and budgeting for corporate cost centers.

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel required
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong verbal, writing, and presentation skills to communicate effectively with immediate team, peers and various levels of management.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no oversight required.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in a general ledger/fixed asset or ERP system (SAP a plus)
  • Handle technical accounting issues and problems while referring more complex issues to higher-level accounting management.
  • Possesses advanced technical knowledge of subject matter.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in collaborative group environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • Minimum 4 years of related experience required
  • Prior experience with ERP software required

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, but not required
  • CPA and/or CMA preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Ensure month-end close is completed accurately, on time, and variances found during close are brought to the attention of the Director of Accounting prior to completing close
  • Review and approval of journal entries and account reconciliations as needed.
  • Recommend and participate in process improvements
  • Ensure that all journal entries and account reconciliations are held to acceptable JELD-WEN standards.
  • Financial statements, forecasting, budgeting, communication, analysis, and other accounting duties as needed for assigned cost centers/areas of responsibility.
  • Support preliminary and annual audits performed by both internal and external auditors, including participation in annual walkthroughs.
  • Internal controls execution and review, ensuring compliance with GAAP, SOX, and JELD-WEN’s internal controls.
  • Management of accountants assigned to your cost centers/areas.
  • Quarterly Flux and Reporting Package Completion for assigned areas
  • Subject matter expert for relevant cost centers
  • Ad hoc projects as needed.
  • Stay current on related upcoming changes to accounting.
