Overview This position is Remote. Candidates must reside in California. Schedule: Day Shift Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Accounting Manager in the Treasury Department is responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely preparation, and submission of financial reports for external auditors and various regulatory agencies at the federal, state, and local levels. This role supports the Assistant Controller in coordinating the external audit process, donor reporting, and other key projects. The Accounting Manager ensures compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and GAAP reporting guidelines and leads philanthropic accounting and reporting efforts. Additionally, this position collaborates with the Assistant Controller and General Accounting Manager on monthly closing procedures and is responsible for leading and developing the accounting staff. Responsible for overseeing the cash flow, revenue and overall finances of an organization. Managing a team of accountants that provide analysis to evaluate fiscal choices, monitor expenses, and advise finance leadership.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of accounting experience including tax, audit, and application of GAAP
  • Understanding of 501(c)(3) non-profit accounting standards for philanthropic gifts
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance administration

Nice To Haves

  • MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred
