About The Position

We are representing a well-established condominium community in Delray Beach seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the financial operations of the association. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys working closely with Boards of Directors, property management, and accounting staff to ensure accuracy, transparency, and strong financial controls. What You’ll Do As Accounting Manager, you will lead the accounting function for the condominium, ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting and compliance with governing documents and Florida statutes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of accounting experience (HOA or condominium experience strongly preferred)
  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, budgeting, and audits
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financials to non-financial stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders

  • CPA or CMA a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and variance reports
  • Oversee general ledger activity, reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries
  • Establish and manage monthly close timelines and quality standards
  • Lead, coach, and mentor accounting staff; assign workloads and manage deadlines
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of accounting team members
  • Oversee annual operating budgets and reserve planning in collaboration with management and the Board
  • Monitor budget-to-actual results and recommend corrective actions
  • Manage assessment billing, collections, and delinquency processes
  • Ensure proper controls over vendor payments, approvals, and disbursements
  • Coordinate with auditors, legal counsel, and collection agencies as needed
  • Serve as the primary financial resource for the Board of Directors and management
  • Participate in Board and finance committee meetings
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, governing documents, and applicable state regulations
  • Oversee audits, reviews, and tax filings; address findings as needed
