Our Accounting team is looking for an Accounting Manager or Senior Accounting Manager to oversee real estate accounting activities for residential, commercial, and joint venture properties. This person will serve as a key liaison across property management and internal teams to ensure financial accuracy, strong internal controls, consistent application of accounting policies to support Prometheus' growth. Requirements

  • Minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of progressive accounting experience, with at least two to four (2-4) years in a supervisory role.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal ability to communicate effectively across functions.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders as well as focusing on finding creative solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with joint venture accounting, partnership allocations, and investor reporting strongly preferred.
  • Experience working directly with external auditors and managing audit processes.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Controls - Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, prepare and review financial statements for management, owners, lenders, and joint venture partners, ensure reporting accuracy and adherence to internal controls, and support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and ad hoc analyses.
  • Joint Venture & Cross-Functional Collaboration – Oversee accounting for joint ventures and partnerships, including capital calls, distributions, and partner reporting, and partner with property management, development, construction, corporate accounting, tax, treasury, and investor relations to resolve accounting issues and ensure consistent financial treatment across entities.
  • Audit, Compliance & Technical Accounting - Serve as primary liaison for external audits, ensure compliance with GAAP, partnership agreements, lender requirements, and internal policies, prepare year-end reporting and tax workpapers, and provide guidance on technical accounting matters and complex transactions.
  • Leadership & Process Improvement – Mentor, and develop accounting staff, drive performance management and professional growth, act as a subject matter expert for systems and reporting tools, and identify process improvements to increase efficiency, scalability, and data integrity.
