Requirements

  • High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA and/or CPA
  • Five or more years of relevant experience in accounting
  • One year of leadership or management experience
  • Foundation Accounting experience
  • Experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge and Financial Edge systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Full scope understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Financial Statements, including footnotes
  • Proficiency with G Suite and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access)
  • Experience with PeopleSoft, Oracle, or other large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to discern the financial impact of transactions on the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Statement of Cash Flows and present findings to Accounting Leadership
  • Ability to resolve routine issues by exercising judgment within defined accounting procedures and practices

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations and financial accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, business case input, and other reporting activities for designated entities.
  • Develop work plans to successfully achieve objectives and goals in support of financial initiatives.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting and analysis.
  • Contribute to financial reporting and technical accounting transactions for entities, including writing or reviewing technical accounting position papers.
  • Support financial reporting compliance across multiple technology platforms, including capital reporting systems, consolidation systems, and enterprise systems.
  • Assist management with understanding and analyzing financial reports and fund balance activity, developing cost-saving measures, and serving as a business partner for designated entities.
  • Support operational initiatives with financial components and collaborate with financial leaders across the organization.
  • Manage staff, which includes hiring, assigning work, performance development and growth, performance evaluation, corrective action, and termination.
