About The Position

This internship program offers practical corporate work experience that could lead to full-time work after graduation. The company is seeking students going into their senior year, graduating in the spring of 2027. The Accounting Intern is responsible for assisting with general ledger month-end close processes for the businesses, which includes preparing journal entries and maintaining respective accounting schedules. The intern will also work with the accounting teams and managers to support reporting, analysis, and special projects.

  • Able to successfully balance multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the monthly financial close for the core lines of business and corporate accounting.
  • Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations.
  • Use various systems to compile reports for monthly close tasks and processes.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, perform account fluctuation analyses, and investigate account variances.
  • Prepare analysis of P&L and balance sheet monthly.
  • Documentation and testing of compliance with internal controls.
  • Assist in providing support for external audit requirements and maintenance of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance reporting and documentation.
  • Assist with special projects for management and other financial functions within the department as required.
  • Gain experience with ERP and Reporting systems such as CloudSuite and Cognos TM1.
  • Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.
