About The Position

Overview CAB Enterprises, Inc., is the exclusive distributer for the Electrolit brand in the United States. The primary objective of CAB Enterprises is to lead the growth of Electrolit sales in the United States. Location : Houston, TX Position Summary The Accounting Internship will provide an enrolled college student with exposure to a corporate forum relating to Finance/ Accounting operations. The internship will be available during the months of May - August.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled and currently attending an Associate Degree program, 2-year Community College, or 4-year bachelor's degree program at a college or university
  • Studying Accounting or related program
  • Working knowledge of financial operations and best bookkeeping practices
  • Motivation and strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible
  • Fluency in English required

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in Spanish a plus
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel)

Responsibilities

  • Shadowing members of the accounting department as they perform their duties
  • Assisting with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate records
  • Creating transactions in accounting software(s) to process business documents (e.g. purchase orders, vendor invoices, customer invoices, customer cash receipts, expense reports) and record business transaction to the general ledger
  • Maintain spreadsheets for analysis, reconciliation, and processing of accounting transactions
  • Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including customer invoicing, payment application, deductions, and reporting
  • Working with ERP software
  • Exposure to and work within the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Taking on additional tasks or projects to gain exposure to and learn more about interdepartmental functions
  • Learning how to work as part of the accounting team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company and customers
