About The Position

With the goal of enhancing lives, fulfilling dreams and building communities this position will support initiatives within the Accounting department with foundational, entry-level accounting responsibilities. This role is designed to help improve workflow efficiency and maintain accuracy in daily, weekly, and monthly accounting activities.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, or other related field.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Dependable and comfortable performing repetitive, task-driven work.
Ability to manage time effectively and meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.
Willingness to ask questions and learn accounting processes.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
Ability to multi-task and work independently on multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
Strong analytical, problem solving, logic and reasoning, communication, and documentation skills.
Able to work during regular business hours; Monday to Friday, 8-5 p.m.
Ability to communicate effectively with peers and business partners.
Comfortable working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Nice To Haves

Currently pursuing a degree in Central to Eastern WA or ID state where Numerica Credit Union is currently chartered.

Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation and review of journal entries.
Create and maintain general ledger reconciliations.
Review reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
Assist with account reviews and identification of variances.
Maintain documentation in accordance with internal controls and department standards.
Support consistent, accurate, and timely completion of routine accounting work.
Collaborate with team members and business partners to support departmental goals.
Bring fresh ideas and insights by thinking creatively and approaching challenges from new perspectives.
Maintains knowledge and adheres to all BSA regulations and compliance standards on internal and external policies.
