As an Accounting Intern at Rocket Carwash, your contributions will be vital to our financial operations. Whether you’re cracking the code on budget variances or ensuring compliance, every task you take on will ensure smooth and efficient financial operations. This is an active role within the company, offering face-time with key players and VP-level leaders. You'll be called upon to take ownership of significant projects that deliver tangible results, impacting how we do business every day. How You’ll Grow with Us: Build strong professional connections by working directly with company leaders, including Controllers, Directors, and VP-level executives. Receive personalized guidance through regular check-ins with accounting mentors, who will provide feedback and insights on how to position yourself for success in accounting or finance roles. Gain hands-on experience by taking ownership of projects and working alongside the accounting team and other departments, honing your leadership skills as you collaborate across teams. Strengthen your ability to effectively communicate complex information, both in writing and presentations, through regular interactions with department leaders and participation in meetings.

Requirements

  • Majors in Accounting, Finance, or Economics (juniors and seniors preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to quickly adapt to new software tools.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting concepts, with the ability to interpret financial data and contribute to accurate reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work efficiently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to convey information 1-on-1 and in group settings.
  • Have a passion for delivering high-quality results, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Hold themselves in high esteem, always demonstrating integrity and accountability.
  • Highly driven to achieve goals, with a commitment to professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with internal and external audits and reviews for accuracy and compliance.
  • Help manage daily cash flow and support month-end close.
  • Process invoices and manage vendor payments.
  • Track and reconcile inventory for accurate reporting.
  • Support accounting tasks for real estate properties.
  • Assist in developing budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Improve accounting processes and create SOPs.
  • Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy.
  • Help reconcile bank accounts and other financial ledgers.
  • Analyze financial data to provide insights for decision-making.
