Accounting Information Systems Intern (Long Term)
About The Position
This internship opportunity is designed to provide a realistic job preview and lay the solid foundation necessary for future employment as a Simplot Accountant. This is your chance to learn firsthand about the J.R. Simplot Company and our financial and business processes. Unique position that will assist in implementing accounting automation technologies, administer our finance governance software, Blackline, and complete accounting tasks including journal entries and account reconciliations. Will help drive accounting optimization throughout the controllership by consulting with other accounting teams, identifying opportunities for automation, and implementing solutions.
Requirements
- Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Outlook
- Basic data management knowledge
- Reconciliation of accounting and financial data
- Building dashboards or visualizations with Power BI or similar tooling
- Currently enrolled in B.A. or B.S. program
- Relevant degrees include accounting, finance, information technology management, or information systems
- Must be at least a Junior or above in discipline
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the BlackLine application
- Assist in training and educating BlackLine users across the global company
- Assist in developing controls and procedures for the global company
- Recognize opportunities for optimization and design automation solutions
- Complete accounting activities for month-end close
- Prepare and review various journal entries, reconciliations, and support schedules
