Accounting Coordinator
About The Position
The Accounting Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the health system. This position is responsible for preparing and analyzing complex financial statements, managing general ledger activities, and ensuring compliance with internal controls, regulatory standards, and financial reporting requirements. The Accounting Coordinator collaborates with cross-functional teams - including human resources, operational leadership, and external auditors - to provide accurate financial reporting, support audits, and contribute to strategic initiatives. This role also provides mentorship and oversight to accounting staff and actively participates in process improvement efforts to enhance financial systems and reporting capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Bachelor’s degree in Finance with Accounting classes equivalent to Accounting minor
- 5 years Internal Munson Healthcare accounting experience OR 7 years experience in a health care or multiple company accounting environment or public accounting firm
- Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella.
- MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in related field preferred
- CMA, CPA, FHFMA, CHFP preferred
