Summary The Controller is responsible for leading the company's accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting strategic financial decision‑making. This role oversees the accounting team, manages month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensures compliance with GAAP, and partners closely with senior leadership to drive financial performance. The position will lead the Annual Financial Audit and external Financial Reporting. The accounting department oversees 5 different entities with two of the entities that do consolidate. Position Reports To: Vice President of Finance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Accounting.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Dynamics, SAP).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree.
  • 5 years work experience in hospital Accounting.
  • A certified public accounting (CPA) license.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month end and year end closing processes.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Coordinate external audits and act as the primary liaison with auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Bond Compliance.
  • Lead Audit Engagement.
  • Assist with 990 preparation.
  • Lead and develop the accounting team, providing coaching, guidance, and performance management.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and fixed assets.
  • Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury activities as needed.
  • Oversee departmental requests for financial information.
  • Review of PSA agreements.
  • Oversee accounting systems, including ERP maintenance and enhancements.
  • Champion data accuracy, system integration, and process optimization.
  • Evaluate and implement new tools to improve accounting workflows.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate Standards of Behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times.
