About The Position

This position is National Remote. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in Minneapolis, Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office for a minimum of four (4) days per week. Connecting. Growing together. This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. We offer paid training on the job. The hours of training will be based on your schedule or will be discussed on your first day of employment. Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 18 years of age or older
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Experience working in a detail-oriented role with a high level of accuracy and sound judgment
  • Experience communicating professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Experience effectively managing time and completing multiple tasks while consistently meeting critical deadlines and responding to changing priorities
  • Experience identifying solutions to non standard requests and complex problems
  • Experience solving moderately complex analyses
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports.
  • Perform account reconciliations and analyses; prepare journal entries and review accounting classifications in accordance with GAAP.
  • Analyze and prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and statements of financial position.
  • Participate in the monthly/quarterly close process.
  • Support lease accounting.
  • Review the work of others (e.g., bank reconciliations, cash receipts, etc.).
  • Develop innovative approaches for continued improvements in efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Anticipate customer needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them.
