About The Position

Mighty Distributing System of America (MDSA) is a national leader in aftermarket auto parts. Our Mighty Product Center (MPC) in Jackson, TN, is the central hub supporting over 100 distributors across 45 states and five international partners. We operate with a team-first mindset and a long-term view of people and performance. The Accounting Clerk is responsible for accurate invoices, cash applications, account reconciliation, and customer communication related to billing and payment processing. This role supports healthy cash flow by ensuring that payments are applied correctly, discrepancies are resolved quickly, and past-due items are handled professionally and consistently.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of accounts receivable, billing, and cash application.
  • Solid working knowledge of invoicing, payment application, and AR aging.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and email communication; comfortable working in an ERP/accounting system.
  • Strong attention to detail, good judgment, and a professional customer communication style.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience supporting credit/collections processes and dispute resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day work will include receipting cash, checks, and bank transactions and completing necessary journal entries.
  • Maintain accurate AR aging schedules and follow up on past due accounts.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies in customer balances and payments
  • Apply adjustments, write-offs, and refunds in accordance with policy.
  • Assist in coding A/P Inventory invoices.
  • Audit A/P batches for accuracy
  • Maintains and reconciles both Customer & Vendor Prepayment ledgers.
  • Maintains petty cash funds and reconciles monthly.
  • Distributes mail.
