About The Position

- Valley Ford of Columbus is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk that will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting and clerical tasks to support the financial operations of the company. This position plays a key role in deal processing, daily accounting functions, and coordination between sales, F&I, and accounting teams.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous automotive dealership accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with CDK Drive or CDK Global strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of dealership deal posting, schedules, and accounting workflows

Responsibilities

  • Process and post vehicle deals in a timely and accurate manner
  • Review deals for completeness, accuracy, and funding readiness
  • Post and reconcile daily cash, check, and electronic deposits
  • Maintain deal schedules and assist in tracking funded and unfunded deals
  • Assist with accounts receivable, including posting customer payments and reconciliations
  • Assist with accounts payable, including invoice entry and payment support
  • Support month-end closing activities related to deal posting and schedules
  • Maintain organized records in compliance with dealership and audit standards
  • Perform general administrative duties such as data entry and filing
  • Perform other accounting and clerical duties as assigned
