Role: The Accounting Associate reports to the Finance Manager supporting day-to-day financial operations of the company. This position ensures accounting records accuracy, facilitates timely payments/receipts, prepares reports, supports audits, manages financial transactions, ensures compliance with company policies, and contributes to the financial health of the organization.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a senior bookkeeper the potential and interest in advancing to an accounting role, or as an accountant with strong bookkeeping experience.
  • At least 2 years work experience in a fast paced, high volume environment.
  • Familiarity with Payroll processing. Plus experience with UKG.
  • A solid understanding of general accounting principles, including accounts payable/receivable, bank statements and general ledger management.
  • Experience in financial reporting, including preparation or assistance in preparation, of profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Netsuite is preferred ), Microsoft Excel (e.g. pivot tables, formulas, etc.), Google Workplace.
  • Experience in managing multiple company bank accounts and credit cards.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset to take on more complex accounting tasks in the future.
  • Understanding of local, state, and federal accounting and tax regulations (Familiar with Tax Code in WA is a strong plus).
  • Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (Bachelor's preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date general ledger (GL) entries.
  • Processes and manages accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
  • Assists in payroll processing and verification.
  • Assists in preparing monthly financial reports and summaries.
  • Assists with tax preparation and filings.
  • Reconciles bank statements and cash accounts.
  • Monitors and manages company credit cards.
  • Assists in budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Supports the preparation and facilitation of internal and external audits.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and accounting regulations.
  • Manages and tracks fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
  • Assists in vendor and contract management.
