We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our Coral Gables office. This role is pivotal in supporting the financial operations and reporting for our General Partner (GP) entities. The Accounting Associate will work closely with management to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and effective financial management of our GP operations. Reporting to General Partner Accounting Manager, the Accounting Associate will provide critical support to the accounting and financial reporting activities of the GP entities. It will further support wider platform initiatives in a cross-functional environment that rewards forward thinking problem solvers who approach their responsibilities with an entrepreneurial mindset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
  • 2 – 5 years of experience related to alternative investments in private industry (e.g., hedge fund, private equity, bank, administrator, etc.) or public accounting.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting ERP systems (Workday or Investran a plus).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with senior management, external auditors, and other stakeholders.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of financial management and reporting.
  • Must have the ability to influence people and arrive at good solutions collaboratively and constructively.
  • Must demonstrate excellent critical thinking skills including in-depth analyses and the resolution of complex problems.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and to perform tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or desire to obtain licensure is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and oversee the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses for GP entities.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and firm policies.
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external audits.
  • Address any audit findings and implement corrective actions.
  • Understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s financial risk profile, including the establishment and monitoring of reliable internal controls.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Provide insights into financial performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
  • Oversee cash management and liquidity for GP entities.
  • Monitor cash flows, manage capital calls, and ensure adequate liquidity to meet operational needs.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls.
  • Collaborate across internal finance, operations, legal, and tax teams in order to champion initiatives of the GP finance and operations platform and ensure its success.
  • Support broader Corporate, General Partner, and Finance related strategic initiatives and ancillary projects.
  • Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items
  • Leads the quarterly closing process and works closely with corporate accounting to reconcile intercompany balances.
  • Reviews and analyzes general ledger activity on a monthly basis for accuracy and completeness.
  • Identifies & communicates reconciling items or accounting issues to the Manager.
  • Supports audit requests and provides documentation to external auditors.
  • Assists with ad hoc accounting projects.
