About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Assistant to support a busy health plan organization in Pasadena. This role focuses heavily on handling incoming payments, accurate data entry, and supporting accounting operations. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for the right candidate.

Requirements

  • 1–3+ years of accounting support experience (AR/AP preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Reliable with excellent attendance and work ethic
  • Comfortable working with multiple systems and accounting software
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong math and numerical skills
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Ability to handle repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Open, sort, and process incoming checks in a timely manner
  • Accurately record and post payments into the company’s CMS/accounting system
  • Perform data entry with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Assist with accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) functions
  • Reconcile payment records and identify discrepancies
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation
  • Work across multiple systems and software platforms efficiently
  • Support the accounting team with additional administrative and financial tasks as needed
