The Accounting Assistant III maintains accurate financial records. Provides accounting and bookkeeping support. Assists University staff in understanding industry standards, current laws, and university policy as it relates to the financial affairs of the University. Provides guidance, trains, and/or may supervise entry-level Accounting Assistants. Additional Department Summary: Monitors the general ledger accounts, financial reports, journal entry maintenance and reconciliation of all Libraries' accounts. Provides additional budget reports and provides financial accounting support. Assists the Director of Financial Affairs with budgeting issues. Attends financial and procurement meetings and serves as a liaison to other departments on campus such as Financial Accounting, Accounts Payable, Advancement, Purchasing and Contract Management. Assists with all travel expense reports and reimbursements for all Library faculty and administrative personnel. Processes all orders for computer equipment and furnishings for University Libraries. Maintains spreadsheets for the cost of building security, postage, and income. Processes budget changes, journal entries and departmental transfers. Maintains a spreadsheet for memberships and recurring commitments, ensuring we meet our renewal dates. Monitors gift and endowment funds by receiving forecasted gains/losses for endowment income.
