About The Position

We’re looking for a detail-driven Remote Accounting Assistant to support a growing accounting function within a fast-paced interior design and construction firm. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Accounting Lead, helping manage essential day-to-day financial tasks—freeing them up to focus on higher-level strategy, systems, and process improvements. This is a part-time, fully remote position with strong potential to grow as the business evolves.

Requirements

  • Solid experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, or bookkeeping
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with QuickBooks (or similar accounting software)
  • Excellent written English communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and handle shifting priorities
  • Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple trackers and systems
  • Reliable, proactive, and responsive in a remote work environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with House Pro or similar tools
  • Background in construction, interior design, or project-based businesses
  • Experience creating SOPs or process documentation
  • Strong client-facing communication skills
  • Comfortable learning new tools and navigating system transitions

Responsibilities

  • Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Assist with billing, proposals, and invoice generation (House Pro, QuickBooks)
  • Track incoming payments and follow up on outstanding invoices
  • Maintain accurate AR records and assist with reconciliations
  • Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Process and code vendor invoices
  • Support AP tracking, documentation, and reconciliations
  • Monitor payment timelines and status updates
  • Accounting & Operations Support
  • Assist in full-cycle accounting tasks under supervision
  • Maintain and update spreadsheets, trackers, and financial records
  • Organize documents across systems (House Pro, QuickBooks, internal tools)
  • Process Documentation
  • Create and maintain SOPs for recurring workflows
  • Turn training sessions into clear, step-by-step documentation
  • Communication & Coordination
  • Provide updates via Slack, email, and Zoom
  • Flag issues, track progress, and collaborate on priorities
  • Participate in regular check-ins to ensure accuracy and alignment
