Location: Philadelphia, PA Hybrid: 3 days a week in office Position Overview The Accounting & Tax Department Coordinator plays a key role in supporting FMC’s Corporate Accounting, Consolidation, and Tax functions. This position contributes to timely financial close, regulatory compliance, and effective operational support by collaborating cross-functionally with Finance, Tax, Treasury, HR, Shared Services, and external auditors. The role supports both the Vice President of Tax and the Vice President, Corporate Controller and is critical to maintaining accurate reporting, compliance, and efficient departmental operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Business‑related discipline preferred.
  • 1–3 years of demonstrated experience in a corporate environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP and financial consolidation systems.
  • Strong organizational, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Team‑oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and contribute in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly consolidation close procedures, including preparing journal entries, data releases, reports, and reconciliations.
  • Review intercompany eliminations and coordinate with business units across the organization to resolve variances.
  • Validate monthly PP&E activities posted to statistical accounts used to support cash flow reporting.
  • Upload depreciation & amortization (D&A) and PII to statistical accounts and reconcile balances.
  • Prepare support schedules for special charges, carve‑out expenses, intangibles, PP&E, discontinued operations, and sales by region.
  • Analyze cash, debt, and interest balances and share results with the Treasury team for validation.
  • Prepare Corporate Ebit results reconciliation and share with Corporate FP&A team.
  • Manage filing requirements, deadlines, and payments related to unclaimed property, property tax filings, and California mill tax filings.
  • Prepare government‑required reports and manage all related reporting deadlines.
  • Perform legal entity SOX consolidation controls and activities in the BPC consolidation system, including adding or removing legal entities as the entity structure changes.
  • Maintain the BPC system and ownership management tables, as needed.
  • Prepare and record BPC journal entries for recurring consolidation items.
  • Assist the External Reporting team with preparation of the company’s Annual Report (financial statements, footnotes, financial summaries, and schedules) and SEC filings (Forms 10‑K and 10‑Q).
  • Support annual audits and quarterly reviews by preparing analyses and documentation and coordinating with internal and external auditors.
  • Assist the external reporting team with quarterly meetings, including PowerPoint presentations, agendas, minutes, and reporting calendars.
  • Prepare templates for consolidated analytics and support the creation of new BPC group accounts, including assistance with chart of accounts maintenance.
  • Participate in special projects, including financial system integration projects for acquired companies.
  • Coordinate and process tax payments for federal, state, and cost center invoices, including check requests and online payments.
  • Monitor cost centers by tracking budget‑to‑actual results and coding expenses to appropriate accounts.
  • Gather state income tax apportionment data.
  • Respond to federal and state internal information requests.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Vice President of Tax and Vice President, Corporate Controller, including processing expense reports, booking travel, managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and drafting departmental communications.
  • Assist with preparation of spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and internal memos.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail for both departments, including bills, tax filings, and other official correspondence.
  • Manage and maintain support for key third‑party contracts, monitoring invoices and payment schedules.
  • Use the Ariba system to process payables for both the Accounting and Tax departments.
