We are seeking a highly experienced and forward-thinking tax leader to join our team as the Director of Global Tax Accounting. In this pivotal role, you will have the opportunity to lead our global tax accounting team and provide strategic guidance on tax accounting and external reporting matters, reporting to the Senior Director of Global Tax Operations. The successful candidate will lead the tax accounting team in preparing projections and quarterly/year-end reporting of the global corporate income tax provision, uncertain tax positions, and effective tax rate for US GAAP ensuring compliance with ASC 740 and Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. Master's degree in Accounting or Tax is preferred.
- 10+ years of diverse global tax experience in public accounting and/or US-based multinational corporate tax department, with at least 5 years of specific tax accounting experience and 2+ years of Director-level experience.
- Extensive experience with tax accounting and reporting under ASC 740 for public US-based multinational corporations.
- Proven experience in leading, managing, developing, and motivating high-performing teams.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey complex tax matters with simplicity and clarity to non-experts across the organization.
- Strong knowledge of tax accounting software and systems, including OneSource Tax provision software (OTP or similar).
Nice To Haves
- Experience with managing automated processes and using data visualization tools and tax technology effectively (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading projections and the quarterly and year-end reporting of the global corporate income tax provision in compliance with US GAAP (and ASC 740).
- Manage all aspects of global income tax reporting, including deferred tax assets/liabilities, valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, and effective tax rate calculations. Communicate and explain key results to executive leadership and other finance team stakeholders (including the CAO and CFO).
- Analyze and decipher complex tax and financial data, using technology and analytics, to drive insights and add strategic value to the finance organization.
- Collaborate with Tax colleagues globally in the areas of tax compliance, planning, and controversy to advise and provide guidance on tax accounting considerations under ASC 740.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal partners and peers, external consultants, and statutory auditors.
- Provide guidance, support and critical review oversight to the tax accounting team on tax accounting matters, including SOX-related and other internal controls.
- Champion operational excellence through process improvement, leveraging best practices, supporting the evolution of tax software tools, and promoting automation and technology to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Lead the global tax accounting team with a growth mentality and mentor tax team members to promote a high-performance culture emphasizing collaboration, professional development, and strategic thinking.
- Stay up-to-date on US GAAP/ASC 740/SEC regulatory changes.
