Performs the full range of professional duties required to support the business department, including the performance of complex and/or sensitive activities; may manage large-scale, long-term projects; and performs related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Associate’s degree in Accounting required
  • Experience with cash reconciliation required
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a similar position preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly reconciliation of district bank accounts, including operating, payroll, grants, nutrition services, and student activity funds
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts to subsidiary ledgers and supporting documentation
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, outstanding checks, voids, and unidentified deposits in a timely manner
  • Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
  • Communicate discrepancies and corrective actions clearly to administrators and staff
  • Maintain accurate fund accounting records in compliance with governmental accounting standards (GASB)
  • Generate reports from financial systems to support reconciliation and reporting
  • May represent the business department in meetings, planning sessions, or formal presentations
  • Provides expertise within specific functions and responsibilities of the department
  • Serves as a resource for school-based administration and staff
