About The Position

As an Accounting Advisor for Cigna Global Health Benefits, you will help strengthen our financial operations while shaping more efficient, reliable accounting practices. Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Motivated self‑starter who is proactive in identifying issues and opportunities.
  • Ability to work East Coast hours.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Ability to work from a Cigna Group office 3 days a week.
  • If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in public accounting or the insurance industry.
  • Familiarity with Oracle, Alteryx, or similar financial systems.
  • Experience working with global or offshore teams.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, payments, and analytics for third‑party administrators and international network providers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.
  • Support monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations by researching variances, identifying root causes, and recommending and implementing improvements.
  • Drive efficiency by identifying opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and partnering with business stakeholders—including offshore teams and CLINKS partners—to deliver sustainable solutions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for third‑party administrators and international network providers, including leading quarterly finance meetings, enhancing control processes, and improving reporting and payment oversight.
  • Create, maintain, and update policies, procedures, and documentation in alignment with Sarbanes‑Oxley requirements.
  • Oversee international cash processes and escheat responsibilities, ensuring compliance with regulations and advancing enterprise‑wide improvement initiatives.
  • Develop analytical tools and guide team members in using them to improve insights and execution.
  • Support annual 1099 reporting and compliance activities.
  • Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits, ensuring readiness and accuracy.
  • Serve as a resource, coach, and mentor to offshore team members, supporting their growth and performance.
