A DAY IN THE LIFE Enthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of 9 laboratories servicing air, water, and soil testing. Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance. Our Finance team is currently seeking a Full-Time Finance Administrator to join our team. Pay: $20-$23/hour As a key member of the equipment team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including: A typical day starts with checking emails and requests from lab teams to prioritize tasks. You’ll entering receipts into Workday, resolve vendor invoice exceptions for payment, review and approve accounts payable invoices within workday, match POs to receipts, and resolve invoice discrepancies against PO with vendors or internal staff. Throughout the day you’ll support accounting activities such as uploading vendor packing slips, review invoices for payment process, support capital expenditure. You’ll work closely with the divisional finance team and lab managers to ensure transactions are accurate, issues are resolved quickly, and financial data stays up to date. The day wraps up with assisting with month-end tasks and ad hoc to support the broader finance and accounting function. Position Summary The Accounting & Finance Administrative serves as a center of excellence for Enthalpy’s laboratory accounts payable function. In this role, you will be a key liaison between Enthalpy laboratories, Corporate AP, and Purchasing, ensuring strong communication and seamless coordination across teams. This position is responsible for reviewing and processing vendor invoices accurately, timely, and in full compliance with company policies. The ideal candidate can independently provide AP resolution, detail-oriented, organized, and committed to accuracy. The individual thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and take pride in delivering reliable financial support to our laboratory operations.

Requirements

  • Two or more years of experience in Accounts Payable, Accounting, or a similar role
  • Solid understanding of Accounts Payable processes and general accounting principles
  • Good knowledge of Excel skill including pivot tables and proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skill and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and completeness
  • Able to work independently or collaboratively with teams across multiple locations
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally (e.g., files, office supplies).
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for data entry, handling paperwork, and operating office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, Microsoft Teams video, over the phone, via email.
  • May require occasional travel to project offices, meetings, or training sessions.
  • Must be able to maintain focus and perform repetitive tasks with accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Proficiency with Workday ERP is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Tracking purchase item received and entering receipts into Workday
  • Address vendor inquiries and discrepancies, including resolving invoice/PO mismatches and troubleshooting billing issues.
  • Request missing documentation from vendors such as POs, invoices, packing slips, and W-9s to support proper processing and setup.
  • Process vendor invoices in Workday accurately and on time, ensuring proper coding and compliance with company policies.
  • Serve as a liaison between division laboratories, Corporate AP, and vendors to ensure smooth communication and issue resolution.
  • Assist with laboratory check requests and ensure all time-sensitive AP tasks are completed promptly.
  • Compile and report month-end use tax on laboratory purchases missing sales tax and submit to Corporate.
  • Review monthly laboratory P&Ls to ensure expenses are correctly coded prepare journal entries for reclasses, accruals, and other adjustments as needed.
  • Support internal and external audits by coordinating with laboratories and providing requested documentation.
