About the job As an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role, maintaining accurate accounting records & reconciliations and financial/management reporting. You will have the opportunity to manage the day-to-day accounting operations within area of responsibility (e.g. Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger), contributing to the overall success and growth of our organization. Currently, this is a Hybrid opportunity located in Richmond, VA.

Requirements

  • You have an accounting or finance degree, with relevant experience, and:
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting / financial reporting experience.
  • Knowledge of standard accounting principles, best practices, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other analytical tools.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong time-management, prioritizing and multi-tasking skills.
  • Highest level of integrity and trust.
  • Dedication to excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in order to meet deadlines and goals.
  • Team player.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA preferred (or equivalent) desirable

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual journal entries and cost allocations.
  • Participate in month-end close and review of financial results.
  • Prepare and analyze the periodic reporting for Alfa Laval Inc and other subsidiaries.
  • Collect additional information necessary for the statutory closing reporting.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and investigate outstanding items.
  • Investigate and correct errors or inconsistencies in financial entries or reports.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations.
  • Provide ad hoc financial reports, analysis and projects as requested.
  • Support other team members in day-to-day processes.
  • Document and update standard operating procedures for all owned processes.
  • Identify potential process improvements.
  • Be responsible for data warehouse maintenance.
  • Assist with auditor requests.
