About The Position

LHB has an immediate opportunity for an Accountant I to join our Finance team. The position will be based in our Duluth, Minnesota office and supports the Finance team with project accounting, billing, and financial reporting activities. This role partners closely with project managers and senior finance staff to ensure accurate financial data, compliance with accounting standards, and timely reporting across LHB’s project portfolio. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (May 2026 graduates considered)
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain projects in the ERP system
  • Manage project billing terms and budgets
  • Prepare customer invoicing and revenue recognition entries
  • Prepare sales journals in accordance with ASC 606 – Revenue from Contracts with Customers
  • Review accounts payable related to projects and subconsultants
  • Manage subconsultant fees and related documentation
  • Assist project managers with project financial reporting and analysis
  • Assist with month-end close entries and financial statement preparation
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
