Join us, bring your best, and build your craft, and your future, with Fabulous Floors. SUMMARY We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This role is essential in supporting the monthly close process, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with payroll and accounts payable, and ensuring the integrity of job cost accounting across the company. The ideal candidate will bring accounting experience in the construction industry, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or related operational finance roles.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application.
  • We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of a U.S. Employment visa (e.g. H-1B) for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of construction accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and record recurring and nonrecurring journal entries, including job cost allocations and accruals.
  • Assist with reconciling job pay applications to billings recorded in the accounting system.
  • Maintain and update the fixed asset ledger, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
  • Record payroll journal entries and maintain payroll-related reconciliations.
  • Serve as backup for payroll processing in ADP Workforce Now when needed.
  • Provide backup support for accounts payable data entry and coding.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations, including bank accounts, credit card accounts, and key balance sheet accounts.
  • Review general ledger activity for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain organized support for audit readiness.
  • Initiate and process ACH payments in accordance with internal controls and approval workflows.
  • Assist with cash tracking and reporting as needed.
  • Assist with annual and ad hoc audits (financial, insurance, workers comp, etc.).
  • Support annual 1099 preparation and reporting.
  • Contribute to special projects that enhance accounting processes, reporting, or system improvements.
