About The Position

The Financial Reporting Staff Accountant will be a core member of our Global Controllership team and will be responsible for key control ownership of our financial month-end process, playing a critical role in our financial statement audit, and acting as a key point of contact with other functional groups to rollout processes, workflows, and policies. We are seeking an accounting professional with experience in public accounting and/or a desire to work in industry practice with a SaaS or services company. This position is based in Chicago, Illinois and reports to the Director of Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • Completion or active pursuit of the Certified Public Accountant exam.
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably with Workday.
  • Understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience in general journal entry preparation and entry.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Friendly and upbeat attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in public accounting is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with revenue recognition.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Netsuite is a plus.
  • Willingness to work from the Chicago office 2 days a week.
  • Knowledge of Workday Finance ERP implemented in January 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the global general ledger.
  • Participate in strategic financial projects, including a new ERP implementation with Workday.
  • Prepare and present periodic reporting packages to outside stakeholders as a key member of the Global Controllership.
  • Own key financial statement close process controls, performing and recommending improvements when necessary.
  • Assist with the compilation of information for month-end reporting.
  • Coordinate consolidation activities at various entity levels within the organization.
  • Assist in managing and coordinating the consolidated global audit.
  • Develop and maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures for accurate and timely financial statements and audits.
  • Apply structured methodology to balance sheet review and maintenance.
  • Perform various month-end activities, including account reconciliation, account reconciliation review, regional and corporate income statement review, and reasonableness testing.
  • Educate and communicate transfer pricing calculations to other finance team members.
  • Review intercompany reconciliations and transfer pricing calculations.
  • Use the general ledger accounting system (Workday) daily, including reviewing and posting journal entries.
