While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.Produces various reports for upper management. Prepares and files sales, use and 1099 tax returns. Reconciles various General Ledger accounts including intercompany. Manages fixed asset inventory for the pipe group. Participates in inventory reconciliation, audits, and budgets. Supervises up to 5 direct reports.This position is a full-time (minimum 40 hours per week) on-site position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business is required, OR a related Associates degree plus ten years' accounting/finance experience; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • Computer literate; proficient with Microsoft Windows, MS Office programs and applications for word processing, email, database management and spreadsheets.
  • Reads, analyzes, and interprets general business information.
  • Communicates effectively orally and in writing.
  • Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Computes rate, ratio and percent and draws and interprets bar graphs.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares sales and use tax returns.
  • Files 1099 return.
  • Reconciles fixed asset spending
  • Manages fixed asset inventory
  • Reconcile various accounts each month.
  • Reconciles bi-monthly pipe inventories.
  • Reconciles intercompany accounts.
  • Participates in audits and budgets.
  • Serve as a backup for other accounting positions.
  • Prepares various journal entries at month end.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of problems as they arise.
  • Fosters positive work relationships.
  • Works in a safe manner and complies with all Company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Hire, train, and oversee staff in the department and instruct new hires within the company and providing constructive and timely performance evaluations.
