About The Position

CPA Support: We support our licensed CPAs by covering the cost of required annual Continuing Professional Education (CPE) to help maintain licensure and stay current in the profession. SUMMARY for ACCOUNTANT I, II, III: Accountant I: Salary Range: $49,093 – $52,177 Perform basic to intermediate accounting functions to support the finance and accounting operations of the Tulsa Housing Authority (THA) and related entities. Assist senior accountants with the interpretation and application of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) accounting regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role also includes responsibility for processing payroll and maintaining accurate payroll-related records in accordance with THA policies and regulatory requirements. Accountant II: Salary Range: $53,556 - $56,920 Perform advanced accounting functions and provide technical leadership to Staff Accountants in the Finance and Accounting operations for the Tulsa Housing Authority (THA) and related entities. Assist management in the interpretation and application of Housing and Urban Development accounting regulations and the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles applicable to the THA and related entities. Accountant III: Salary Range: $67,000 to $75,000 Perform advanced accounting functions and may help Accountants I and II in the finance and accounting operations for the Tulsa Housing Authority (THA) and related entities. Review and approve work completed by subordinates to ensure functions are performed within established departmental policy and procedure. Provide leadership for the day-to-day operations of THA general accounting administrative functions that may be assigned. Assist management in the interpretation and application of Housing and Urban Development accounting regulations and the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles applicable to the THA and related entities. Who We Are THA provides publicly assisted housing comprised of traditional public housing, mixed-finance sites, and housing vouchers. Currently, THA provides assistance to more than 20,000 individuals, or 7,200 families. THA is governed by a voluntary Board of Commissioners, each of whom is appointed by the Mayor of the City of Tulsa. The board employs THA’s President/CEO, who in turn employs the remainder of THA’s staff of approximately 200 team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university; or
  • Four years of related accounting experience and/or training; or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting and two (2) years’ experience in budget and financial accounting; or
  • Six (6) years related experience and/or training in accounting. Degree preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and four years; or eight years related experience in budget and financial accounting or an MBA or CPA certificate.
  • Strong Excel, GL experience, financial statement review and budget experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with GL reconciliations and Payroll experience preferred
  • Experience with GL reconciliation and financial statement review.
